MADISON, Wis. –- The Wisconsin women’s rowing programs have set Sept. 25 as the date for their annual Class Day Races at Porter Boathouse. The event welcomes Wisconsin rowing alumni to return to the water for racing between current and former Badgers.
This year’s event coincides with UW football’s home game against Austin Peay. Class Day Races is expected to run between 8-9 a.m., depending on the football time announcement, which is still to be determined.
Special this year is the dedication of a new boat, “National Champions 2004,” that will recognize the first Wisconsin lightweight crew to win a national title.
“We are hoping to have as many members of that crew here as possible to row in ‘their’ new boat for the class day race,” said lightweight coach Erik Miller. “Those able to attend should contact me to participate.”
The event is open to both Wisconsin openweight and lightweight rowing alumni and all are encouraged to attend.
