Louisville, Ken. - The UW men's golf team completed their second competition of the year at the Cardinal Intercollegiate in 10th place with a 290-293-298-881. Miami University (OH) won the event by shooting a 54-hole score of 857 (289-279-289) to defeat Illinois State by three strokes. Marshall (862) finished third by one stroke over Louisville and Kennesaw State, who tied for fourth with a 863.
Marshall's Aaron Boggs took home medalist honors with a 54 - hole score of 210 (-6), narrowly defeating Kennesaw State's Jeff Karlsson by one stroke. Karlsson's Kennesaw State teammate Chad Wilson carded a 54-hole score of 212 to finish third.
Wisconsin's top finisher was Anthony Aicher, who finished tied for 15th with a one-over par 69-75-73-217. Freshman Stephane Dubois tied for 27th with a 219; Christopher Meyer tied for 51st with a 224; Michael Sorenson tied for 56th with a 226; and Robert Jacobsen tied for 69th with a 229.
The Badgers set a number of season and career bests at the Cardinal Intercollegiate. Anthony Aicher had a 54 - hole career best with a 217. Stephane Dubois recorded his 54-hole career best with a 219, and Christopher Meyer recorded his 54-hole best with a 224. Playing in his first collegiate event, Robert Jacobsen set a new career best with a 54-hole score of 229. Michael Sorenson recorded a season low 54-hole score of 226. Additionally, the team recorded a season best 54-hole score of 881.
Next up for the Badgers is the Renaissance Intercollegiate hosted by Xavier University and being held at the Renaissance Club in Ft. Myers, Fla.
