MADISON, Wis. -- In the second round of the InnTowner Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Wisconsin dominated Chicago State in a shutout win. The Badgers defeated the Cougars, 25-11, 25-13, 25-13, as they remain undefeated on the season.

The 5-0 start is head coach Pete Waite's best ever in his 12 seasons at Wisconsin. His previous best was a 4-0 start in 2005 and 2008.
Wisconsin dominated with a .272 hitting percentage and 38 kills compared to Chicago State's .000 percentage and 20 kills. The Badgers also out-blocked the Cougars 6-1.
Kirby Toon, Bailey Reshel, and Mary Ording had a match-high eight kills and senior Jessa Benson added 27 assists to lead both teams. Sophomore Kelli Kasha recorded a career-best three service aces in the win.
The Cougars were led by Valeria Desiderio with five kills and Hanya Minta with 18 assists.
Kim Kuzma added to her digs streak with 11 against Chicago State. Kuzma has recorded double figured digs in all five matches of the season. Kelsey Maloney lead all teams with her season high five blocks in the win.
Wisconsin got off to a strong start easily winning the first set, 25-11. Ording led the Badgers with four kills with five other Badgers contributing to the total of 14 kills. Benson recorded 10 assists.
Chicago State kept the second set close during the early points of the period until Wisconsin was able to pull away after a 4-4 tie. The Badgers went on to score four unanswered points as they cruised to a 25-13 win.
The Badgers were able to finish things off in the third set to shut out the Cougars. Like the second set, the match remained close through a 4-4 tie when Wisconsin was able to break away, winning the set 25-13.Toon and Elle Ohlander contributed with four kills for the set-high and Benson added all 10 of the Badgers' assists. Wisconsin dominated with a .296 hitting percentage while Chicago State hit a negative .083 for the period.
Chicago State will finish off the tournament as it takes on Duquesne at 5 p.m. Wisconsin and Loyola will face off for the title of tournament champions tonight at 7 p.m.
