AUSTIN, Texas. -- The Badgers completed the fall season with a 14th place showing shooting 303-315-309--927 at the 54-hole Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at UT Texas Golf Course in Austin. The host team dominated the field to win by 12 strokes with a 16-over par 288-293-299-880. First round leader Florida tied two other teams for second including Pepperdine and Tulsa with an 892.
Only three golfers finished even par or better. Texas surged to take the top two individual spots with Nicole Vandermade finishing 2-under with 72-73-69--214. Madison Pressel, sister of LPGA star Morgan Pressel, was a stroke back at 72-71-72--215.
After an incredible opening round of 2-under par 70 which included a 30 on her back nine, Wisconsin senior Jessie Gerry finished 34th with 70-78-81--229 to finish at 13-over par.
Sophomore Kris Yoo continues to impress as she moved up 11 spaces to tie at 44th with 15-over 77-79-75-231. Sophomore Lindsay Danielson dropped to a tie for 52nd with a 17-over-par 76-77-80--233.
Freshmen Aaren Ziegler and Kimberly Dinh rounded out the scoring for Wisconsin. Ziegler finished tied at 67th with 80-83--72-239. Dinh finished a stroke back at 24-over-par 81-81-78--240, good for a tie for 70th place.
