
Crystal Graff named Sportswoman of the Year

MADISON, Wis. - Crystal Graff, a freshman on the University of Wisconsin volleyball team, will be honored Wednesday night as the Sportswoman of the Year by the Madison Sports Hall of Fame. The organization will hold its annual Hall of Fame banquet at the Monona Terrace Convention Center.
Graff, a 6-3 outside hitter, led La Follette High School to the 2010 Big 8 Conference title. The Lancers also won a regional title and advanced to the state tournament. Graff was named the 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Wisconsin. She was also honored as the 2010 Big 8 Player of the Year and 2010 Wisconsin State Journal Player of the Year. A two-time all-state honoree, Graff was also a three-time all-city and all-conference selection.
One of the top prep players in the nation, Graff won a silver medal at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games as a member of the 2010 USA team. She also participated in the 2006 and 2007 USA High Performance Select A1 camp. Graff was ranked 21st by PrepVolleyball.com on its Senior Aces list. She earned All-America honors by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, USAV Junior Olympics and PrepVolleyball.com.
Graff joined the Badgers early, becoming a member of the UW team in January. She earned a perfect 4.00 grade point average in her first semester.
