Player of the Game
Junior Taylor Wurtz scored a game-high 21 points, her fourth 20-plus point performance of the season. The 6-0 guard was 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) from the field, including 2-of-6 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range. Wurtz was 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) from the line, including 4-of-5 in the second half. She also added seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes of play.
Play of the Game
With the score tied at 47 with 5:53 to play, sophomore Morgan Paige drove the lane to score and stop a 16-0 run by the Wolverines. Michigan coach Kevin Borseth called the play the "layup that broke our back." Wisconsin led 49-47 on the drive but Michigan came back to tie the score at 49 and again at 51.
Turning Point
After the third tie of the game at 51-51 with 3:54 to play, Wisconsin went on 7-1 run to take a 58-52 lead with 1:37 remaining. The Wolverines were forced to foul, sending the Badgers to the line where they were 6-of-7 from the line in the final 51 seconds.
