MADISON, Wis. -- With spring approaching rapidly, it's time to think golf at University Ridge Golf Course. Plan now for the upcoming season by joining the Ridge Club, enjoying the public scrambles or signing up for instruction.
JOIN THE RIDGE CLUB IN 2012 AND SAVE BIG!
The Ridge Club is back for 2012! Four different levels of membership make it easy to find the right package for you! See the 2012 Ridge Club Rates and compare them with the 2012 regular rates. A new benefit for Ridge Club members in 2012 will be a $1 discount on all beverages at The W Grill. Sign up and pay in full before April 15th and receive a free guest round of golf for the 2012 season! To sign up, call the golf shop at (608) 845-7700 or stop out in person. The golf shop will be open 8:30a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday throughout the month of March.
"20 YEAR TUNE UP" SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 6TH, 2012
University Ridge Golf Course will be closed for golf from August 6, 2012 through the end of the year for a "20 Year Tune-up". The tune up will include a resurfacing of all 18 greens as well as the putting green, bunker reconstruction, and other general improvements to the course. University Ridge will re-open on a date to be determined in May of 2013.
The practice facility and award winning Golf Shop @ University Ridge will stay open during the renovation, while the The W Grill will operate in a reduced capacity. University Ridge is committed to offering the highest quality golfing experience in the area. The excellent course conditions, service, and professionalism that you have experienced for over 20 years will continue regardless of the closing date. 2012 PUBLIC SCRAMBLES
University Ridge will proudly host two different scrambles during the 2012 season. The scrambles are open to the public and you may sign-up now for both events. The first scramble of the year will be the Third Annual He-Man Challenge on May 21 at 2 p.m. Play the golf course at its toughest and enjoy great prizes and a tailgate cookout after golf. The other event will be the "Out with a Bang" 3-person Scramble on August 5 (last day the course will be open for play) at 2 p.m. To sign up for any of the scrambles, or to set up a golf outing of your own, call or email Andy at (608) 497-4453 or atb@athletics.wisc.edu.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Golf Show is March 2-4 at a new location. The Milwaukee County Sports Complex in Franklin, Wis., will be the host site this year. The Greater Madison Golf Show is March 9-11, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center. If you walk by our booth at either show, mention this email and get a coupon for a discounted round of golf for the 2012 season.
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INSTRUCTION OPTIONS FOR 2012
University Ridge offers quality, fun, and informative golf instruction for all ages, abilities, and interests. Our PGA certified instructors offer flexible lesson times and competitive rates, while teaching on one of the best practice facilities in the state. The Clinic Series is back with plenty of early season topics to choose from. Each clinic is only $25 or sign up for (4) for $80.
There are plenty of adult and junior public classes to choose from as well. All public classes have maximum group sizes of 5-6 students. New this year, for our junior program will be an Elite Class for 13-17 year-olds looking to play competitive golf. The Sunday afternoon class features a one-hour lesson and up to 18 holes of golf for only $50 per session. THE GOLF SHOP @ UNIVERSITY RIDGE EARNS TWO AWARDS!
The Golf Shop @ University Ridge was recently named a 2012 winner of Golf World's 100 Best Golf Shops. University Ridge has received the honor for the 12th time since the course opened in 1991.
