
Gerry named Sportsmanship Award honoree

MADISON, Wis. -- Senior Jessie Gerry was recognized Tuesday as one of 12 Sportsmanship Award honorees by the Big Ten Conference.
Those receiving the award are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
This season Gerry posted top team finishes for Wisconsin in 5-of-10 tournaments, including the top finish at the Big Ten Championships April 27-29. Gerry posted the third-best scoring average on the team this season at 76.73.
Gerry competed in 124 rounds over four years with the Badgers, winning the Badger Invitational as a freshman in 2008.
Gerry finishes her career as one of Wisconsin's greatest golfers. Her 77.78 career scoring mark is sixth-best all-time in school history. Gerry also holds the records for lowest 18-hole score (66), lowest 36-hole score (137) and the second-lowest 54-hole score (215). Additionally, Gerry holds the eighth-lowest season average, 76.28 set in 2010-11.
