
Yoo wins USGA Women's Public Links Qualifier

GLENWOOD, Ill. -- Sophomore Kris Yoo was the medalist at the 18-hole USGA Women’s Public Links Qualifier held May 29 at Glenwoodie Golf Club in Glenwood, Ill.
Yoo topped the field with a 4-over par 76 and advances to the 2012 USGA Women’s Amateur Public Links Championships June 18-23 at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic, N.J.
She will be among 156 competitors in the field for next month's tournament. Qualifying will continue at 34 sites across the country through June 4.
At the national tourament, the qualifliers will play a round each day over the first two days before the field is pared to 64. Those advancing will compete in a bracket format through the rest of the tournament.

A Schaumburg, Ill., native, Yoo placed among the top three golfers in eight tournaments for the Badgers this past year and averaged 76.40 through all 30 rounds of play. She has career-bests of 69 for 18, 147 for 36 and 219 for 54-holes.
