MINNEAPOLIS -- Following four days of swimming, including 21 events, the Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team ended its conference season with a seventh-place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Following her historical performance in the 50-yard freestyle, sophomore Ivy Martin earned first-team All-Big Ten honors. Martin, who became the first woman in Big Ten history to break the 22-second barrier in the 50 free, earned 25 of UW's 249 total team points en route to her all-conference honors.

The Badgers made their biggest splash in the 400-yard medley relay during the final day of competition. Rebecka Palm, Ivy Martin, Ruby Martin and Laura Miller earned a fifth-place finish (3:18.36) and a much-needed 28 points.

A pair of freshmen finished in the top 25 in the 1650-yard freestyle during their Big Ten championship debuts. Jenny Holtzen (15th; 16:40.18) and Colleen Konetzke (24th; 16:53.11) each made positive strides as they conclude competition in their rookie seasons.

Minnesota (831.5) earned the team title with Indiana (671.5) finishing as the runner-up.

Select members of the Wisconsin women's swim and dive team will continue their seasons at the NCAA championships, which begin March 21 in Indianapolis, Ind.
