MADISON, Wis. -- -- The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department, in conjunction with the PGA of America, was pleased to welcome Steve Stricker of Edgerton, Wis., in attempting to land a golf ball on the Motion W at the 50-yard line at the UW football game vs. Illinois on Oct. 11.
At halftime, Stricker hit three balls in his attempt to land a 135-yard shot at midfield from the videoboard platform above Section K. Register-to-win contestant winner Bob Beggs of Fitchburg was in attendance for a chance to win two VIP Wanamaker Club tickets to the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. Beggs was selected at random from thousands who registered to win the contest.
Although Stricker was unsuccessful in landing the Motion W, coming within three feet once, Bob Beggs was awarded a pair of Sunday tickets to the 2015 PGA Championship August 10-16 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wis.
Stricker is a 12-time winner on the PGA Tour and a three-time member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
