This Week In Badger Athletics: Oct. 20-26

FOOTBALL (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten)

This Week: Coming off its final bye week of the season, Wisconsin (4-2, 1-1) faces the first of consecutive games against foes from the Big Ten East Division when league newcomer Maryland (5-2, 2-1) comes to Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday for the Badgers' Homecoming game. The Badgers and Terrapins will clash at 11 a.m., live on BTN.
Last Week:
The Badgers were idle after scoring a 38-28 win over Illinois on Oct. 11.
Need to Know:
The nation's top rushing team at 343.0 yards per game, the Badgers also boast the nation's top individual runner in junior RB Melvin Gordon, who is averaging 174.3 yards per game.
Good to Know:
BTN will broadcast Saturday's game with Kevin Kugler, Glen Mason and Lisa Byington on the call. On radio, the game airs live statewide on the Badger Sports Network, with Matt Lepay, Mike Lucas, Mark Tauscher and Patrick Herb calling the action. WOMEN'S HOCKEY (6-2-0, 4-0-0 WCHA)

This Week: The Badgers hit the road to northern Minnesota to face Bemidji State this weekend. The Badgers and Beavers face off on Friday at 7 p.m. before wrapping up their series on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Last Week:
Wisconsin suffered its first losses of the year at the hands of Border Battle rival Minnesota. UW fell 4-1 last Friday before falling in overtime on Saturday.
Need to Know:
The Badgers are 55-4-3 all-time against the Beavers, and have outscored BSU 275-273 in their previous 62 meetings.

VOLLEYBALL (16-2, 7-1 Big Ten)

This Week:
The fifth-ranked Badgers (16-2 overall, 7-1 Big Ten) wrap up the first half of Big Ten play by hosting Iowa (9-10, 1-7) and No. 13 Nebraska (11-6, 5-3) this week. Wisconsin takes on the Hawkeyes on Wednesday at 7 p.m., while the Huskers come to town for an ESPN2 match on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Last Week:
Wisconsin extended its Big Ten winning streak to seven matches with two 3-0 wins over No. 23 Minnesota last week. It is UW's longest stretch of Big Ten matches won since 2007 when it claimed nine straight to start the conference season. It is also currently the longest winning streak in the Big Ten Conference.
Good to Know:
Wisconsin has had three sell-out crowds in the UW Field House this season, drawing 6,012 fans vs. Penn State on Sept. 24, vs. Maryland on Oct. 12 and vs. Minnesota on Saturday. UW is drawing 4,768 fans per match, which ranks third nationally.
Need to Know:
Wednesday's match will be streamed live on BTN Plus and Sunday's match against Nebraska will air on ESPN2. Fans can listen in to Jon Arias and Victoria Ito on The Mic 92.1.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (13-2-1, 7-2-1 Big Ten)

This Week: No. 15 Wisconsin (13-2-1, 7-2-1 Big Ten) returns home for its final homestand of the season, beginning with a showdown for Senior Day against No. 14 Rutgers on Friday night. The Badgers close out the weekend hosting Maryland on Sunday.
Lsat Week:
The Badgers routed Minnesota, 4-1, and earned their first win over the border rivals since 2010.
Need to Know:
Wisconsin became the first team in program history to reach 13 wins in a season since 2005.
Good to Know:
Fans can come out and support the nationally-ranked Badgers this weekend. Friday night's match is Senior Day, as seniors of the team will be honored prior to the game. Sunday marks Fan Appreciation Night, which means a voucher can be printed off from the Wisconsin Women's Soccer Facebook page and redeemed at the gate for $1 admission.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

This Week: Wisconsin hosts its Red/White Scrimmage on Sunday, with Kohl Center doors opening at noon and the action set to begin at 1 p.m.
Need to Know:
Sunday's Red/White Scrimmage will mark the return of seven of UW's top eight scorers from last season, including preseason All-Americans Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker. The Badgers' also bring back the veteran backcourt duo of seniors Josh Gasser and Traevon Jackson, as well as Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Nigel Hayes. Duje Dukan enters his final season at UW and Bronson Koenig returns looking to make a jump after his successful freshman campaign.
Good to Know:
Admission is free to the Red/White Scrimmage. Parking is available in Lots 46, 87 and 91 ($10). In addition to watching the on-court action, fans will have the opportunity to meet the Badgers players and coaches during a post-game team autograph session. The 2014-15 team poster, courtesy of UW Credit Union, will also be available free of charge.

MEN'S SOCCER (2-9-2, 0-5-0 Big Ten)

This Week: Wisconsin hosts Milwaukee for a Wednesday night game at the McClimon Complex. The Badgers will then take to the road and face Penn State on Sunday in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Last Week:
The Badgers earned a 1-1 tie in double overtime against Loyola Chicago last Wednesday, but were topped 2-0 by Ohio State over the weekend.
Need to know:
Wisconsin has been shut out just three times all season.
Good to Know:

UW opened its 2014-15 campaign at the Head of the Charles, placing 17th in the Championship Eight, including 10th among collegiate crews, and sixth place in the Championship Four.
Need to Know:
UW improved its results from the 2013 Head of the Charles, moving up one spot in the eight and four spots in the four.
