Badgers sign three for Class of 2016

Three top-100 recruits will begin playing for Wisconsin in the fall of 2016

MADISON, Wis. -- Head women's tennis coach Tina Samara announced Friday that high school seniors Michelle Linden, Melissa Pick and Christina Zordani have all signed national letters of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin and play tennis for the Badgers beginning in the fall of 2016.

"I believe this recruiting class will be an integral part of the UW tennis program and have an immediate impact," Samara said. "All three of these players have had success at the highest levels, both on and off the court. What stands out for me with this group, aside from the tennis, is their character and work ethic on a daily basis. I believe if we continue to build a culture where these characteristics are the foundation, UW tennis will see great success in the near future."

MICHELLE LINDEN
5-5, Barrington, Ill. (Barrington High School)
A five-star recruit from Barrington, Illinois, Michelle Linden wrapped up her prep career at Barrington High School with four trips to state championship in singles, including a sixth-place finish in 2014. She was also a semifinalist in both the Midwest Closed Tournament and Midwest Open G18's in 2014, as well as placing fifth in the National Open in Erie, Pennsylvania, in February of 2014. Linden plans to major in business at Wisconsin.

A four-star recruit from Albuquerque, Pick also claimed a 2014 runner-up finish in doubles while wearing a cast on her left hand. Pick participated in the 2014 National Selection in San Antonio and Midland, as well as the West Brigford Junior Open in Nottingham, England. The New Mexico Female Player of the Year in 2014 and New Mexico Sportsmanship Award winner in 2013, Pick is ranked 86th in the nation for the 18-and-under category.
