Carlsbad, Calif. – The Wisconsin men's golf team shot a 15-over 299, Tuesday, in the second round of the 54-hole Gifford Collegiate Championship at La Costa Resort to put the Badgers (+25, 294-299-593) in 13th place.

Washington (285-275=560) leads the event at 8-under, followed by Stanford (-6, 285-277=562) and San Diego State (+4, 290-282=572), which are two and 12 shots back, respectively.

Marquette (299-293=592) is one shot ahead of UW at 24-over, while Harvard (+23, 298-293=591) and Texas A&M (+23, 292-299=591) are two strokes better in a tie for 10th.

Eddie Wajda III has led Wisconsin through 36 holes, shooting a 5-over 71-76=147 to tie for 33rd.

Ben Skogen is not far behind at a 6-over 148. He has been the Badgers' most consistent golfer at the Gifford Collegiate Championship, recording identical rounds of 74. Skogen is in a knot for 40th.

Freshman Jordan Hahn followed up a Badgers-worst 8-over 79 in Round 1 with a team-best 1-over 72 in the second round. He is third on UW and 56th overall.

Michael Abrahamson (75-77=152) and Matt Ross (74-78=152) rounded out UW's scoring. Exactly opposite Monday's results, Abrahamson was one shot better than Ross in Round 2 at a 6-over 77. In the first round Ross shot a 74, compared to Abrahamson's 75. The pair is tied for 60th at 10-over.

The final round will tee off Wednesday, wrapping up Wisconsin's fall campaign.
