UW 18th after second round of 54-hole Cougar Classic

Charleston, S.C. -- On Day two of the Cougar Classic, Monday, the Wisconsin women's golf team shot a 27-over 315 to give the team a two-round total of 42-over 303-315=618 resulting in a drop of three spots to 18th on the team leaderboard.
UW sits nine strokes ahead of UNC Greensboro (320-307=627) and Maryland (308-319=627).
Other than the first spot, the top portion of the team leaderboard saw a lot of movement. Eighth-ranked Arkansas (282-283=565) continues to pace the tournament, lowering its score to 11-under - an impressive 10 strokes ahead of second-place Virginia (293-282=575).
Other Big Ten teams Michigan, Indiana and Penn State are 11th, tied for 12th and 15th, respectively.
Wisconsin saw improvement from Day 1 to Day 2 with three of its golfers.
Brooke Ferrell (77-76=153) shot a 4-over 76 to tie for 71st. Ali Nageotte (81-80=161) posted an 8-over 80 to tie at 98th. Both scores were one shot better than the previous day.
Additionally, Becky Klongland (82-80=162) was two shots better in her second round, scoring an 8-over 80 to tie for 101.
UW's best Day one golfer, Gabby Curtis (70-81=150), fell off on Monday, shooting an 8-over 81 which shifted her from tied for fifth to tied for 45th.
Michelle Cheung (75-79=154) rounded out the Badgers individual results, as the junior put up a 7-over 79. After 36 holes she is in a tie for 77th.
