MADISON, Wis. — Senior
Dana Grindall led Wisconsin during the closing day of dual-meet competition at NC State on Saturday.

The Wolfpack held off the Badgers to sweep the meet, winning 200-149 on the women's side and claiming a 224-121 victory in the men's competition.

Grindall came away with UW's lone win in the pool, claiming victory in the 100-yard butterfly in 55.15 seconds, while the Badgers' divers continued their success on the boards with all divers once again earning NCAA zone qualifying marks.

The women posted a 1-2-3 sweep on the 1-meter springboard with senior
Ashley Peterson winning the event with a score of 540.46. Sophomore
Hazel Hertting and
Alexandra Hafey rounded out the sweep earning scores of 532.88 and 523.05, respectively.

The men were once again led by freshman
Kevin Pomeroy, who clinched a runner-up finish in the 3-meter springboard, posting a score of 608.41.

Sophomore Matthew Aronson was right behind Pomeroy, finishing third (588.31) while Andrew Pearson placed sixth (455.63).

The Wisconsin women also saw a trio of runner-up finishes from
Cierra Runge in the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.57),
Maria Carlson in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.59) and
Beata Nelson -- who earned a NCAA "B" cut -- in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.38).

The Badgers women also notched second-place finishes in both relay events, with the 200-yard medley relay team of
Jess Unicomb,
Marissa Berg, Nelson and
Chase Kinney finishing in 1:41.55 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kinney,
Emmy Sehmann, Runge and
Abby Jagdfeld recording a time of 3:21.78.

The women were also highlighted by a trio of third-place finishes courtesy of Kinney in the 100 free (50.12) and senior
Danielle Valley in the 500 free (4:50.43) and the 400 IM (4:24.44).

Senior
Harrison Tran led the men with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 48.56.

The team also saw a pair of third-place individual finishes from senior
Cannon Clifton in the 100 free (44.83) and freshman
Cooper Hodge in the 400 IM (3:58.26).

The 200 medley relay team of
Brett Pinfold,
Griffin Back, Tran and Clifton took third in 1:30.63, while the 400 free relay team of Clifton,
Matt Hutchins,
Ryan Stack and Pinfold recorded a time of 2:59.58 to finish third.

The Badgers now look to a well-deserved weekend off before hitting the road to face yet another national powerhouse team, Georgia in a two-day dual meet Nov. 4-5.
