
Forty-one Badgers earn spots on winter Academic All-Big Ten list

Wisconsin student-athletes of winter sports recognized by Big Ten for academics
MADISON, Wis. – A total of 41 student-athletes from the University of Wisconsin have received the honor of earning spots on the winter Academic All-Big Ten teams, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday.

Leading the way for the winter sports was women's swimming and diving, who had 12 student-athletes honored. Men's hockey had eight members earn Academic All-Big Ten accolades, while men's swimming and diving and wrestling each had six student-athletes receive the prestigious honor. The men's basketball team had five student-athletes recognized and the women's basketball had four.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

So far this season, 103 Badgers have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 12 different sports.
