Klongland to play in pro tour event Aug. 19-21

Will play as an amateur in LPGA Symetra Tour event in Milwaukee
MADISON, Wis. – Golfer Becky Klongland received a sponsor's invitation to participate in the LPGA Symetra Tour event Aug. 19-21, held at Brown Deer Park Golf Course in Milwaukee.Â
The University of Wisconsin junior is the only amateur in the field. Also participating are former UW golfers Carlie Werwie and Jess Gerry.
Klongland is coming off a season where she averaged a career-best 76.50 strokes in 26 rounds. She ended the year by tying for ninth at Big Ten Conference Championship with 74-71-68—213, to become just the 20th Wisconsin competitor all-time to place in the top 10 at the conference meet.
In July,  Klongland won the 2016 Wisconsin State Women's Amateur Championship for a third-straight year with a 6-over 75-73-77—225.
This is the second year the Symetra Tour is visiting Brown Deer.Â
