Celebrate the 2017 season on Jan. 21
MADISON, Wis. -- Celebrate the 2017 Wisconsin volleyball season and join the Badgers for their annual banquet on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, in Varsity Hall of Union South, 1308 W. Dayton St., on the UW campus. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with a brunch buffet served at noon. The banquet program will follow brunch. Cost of the event is $30 per person while children 12–and-under are $10.

The Badgers advanced to their fifth-straight NCAA regional in 2017, losing to Stanford in the Sweet 16. Wisconsin went 21-10 on the year.
Dana Rettke was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Freshman of the Year while becoming the first UW freshman to earn first-team All-America honors. The 6-foot-8-inch middle blocker was also a unanimous pick to the All-Big Ten Conference team and was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and the AVCA Northeast Regional Freshman of the Year. Junior Tionna Williams and freshman Sydney Hilley earned honorable mention All-America honors with Williams earning her second-straight All-Big Ten and AVCA All-Northeast Regional awards. Hilley was selected to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and obtained honorable mention all-region honors.
For the second-straight season, Wisconsin celebrated record crowds as UW sold out 15 of 16 matches in the UW Field House. The sell outs helped the Badgers set a school record with 5,980 spectators per match, which ranked third nationally. Wisconsin drew a record total of 95,680 fans for the season, breaking last year's mark of 94,829 spectators.
