MADISON, Wis. – Senior
Chris Mueller will go down as one of the most prolific players in Wisconsin men's soccer program history, and he's still garnering awards as he was named to the All-Midwest Region First Team on Friday night.
The two-time All-Region honoree appeared as a starter in 21 games and led the nation, the Big Ten and the team in assists (20). Mueller also led the nation and the Big Ten in assists-per-game (.95)
The Schaumburg, Illinois native led the Big Ten and the team in shots (72) and shots on goal (30) in addition to leading the Big Ten and the team in points (38).
The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year finished eighth all-time in career goal scoring (22) at Wisconsin and finished four assists behind Badger legend Kevin Kullby in all-time career assists at UW with 35 and set the Wisconsin school record for assists in a season (19), a record that stood since 1981. Mueller also ranks fourth all-time in school history in career points (79) and stands in third all-time for career shots (182).
The All-America teams will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 7.
