
Eleven Badgers named Academic All-Big Ten

Student-athletes honored by conference for work in the classroom
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team had success both on the field and in the classroom this season as 11 student-athletes were named Academic All-Big Ten, the league announced Wednesday.
"It's always rewarding to see the academic achievements of our guys but to have more than one-third of our players named to the Academic All-Big Ten is awesome," head coach John Trask said. "Adrian, David, Phillip, Jack, Mitch, Mike, Alejandro, Noah, Isaac, Dominick and Enda are all important members of the team and congrats on their academic success."
Wisconsin goalkeepers cleaned up the award as all three earned the distinction. David Fiflis, a biomedical engineering major, and Philipp Schilling, a human ecology major from Germany, both earned their first Academic All-Big Ten honor.
Senior goalkeeper Adrian Remeniuk garnered his third Academic All-Big Ten honor. The Glenview, Illinois native is a psychology major.
Sophomores Alejandro Estrelles Hernanz, Mitch Guitar, Noah Leibold, Dominick Mesdjian and Jack Shaw all earned their first Academic All-Big Ten distinction. Leibold, a native of Wiesbaden, Germany and a kinesiology major, was also recognized as a member of the 2017 Academic All-District Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Junior captain Isaac Schlenker earned his third Academic All-Big Ten honor.
Junior Enda O'Neill rounds out the honorees, earning his third All-Big Ten academic honor as an economics major.
Senior Mike Catalano also earned his third Academic All-Big Ten honor.
