Zeng leads Badgers in final round of SunTrust Gator Invitational

Wisconsin shoots best round of tournament to finish 11th
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Wisconsin women's golf team jumped one spot up the leaderboard to finish in 11th place at the SunTrust Gator Invitational.

Playing at the par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course, the Badgers (307-302-293=902) shot their best round of the tournament to make one last push up the leaderboard.

Nat Zeng (78-73-70=221) finished as UW's top golfer and collected her third top-25 finish this season. The Bangkok, Thailand, native shot an even-par 70 to close out the weekend and jump up to a tie for 24th on the players' leaderboard.

Finishing at 15-over, Gabby Curtis (70-78=77=225) moved into a tie for 30th.

Michelle Cheung (79-76-75=230) saved her best round for last by shooting a 5-over 75 to finish tied for 53rd. Three strokes behind was Jessica Reinecke (80-75-78=233), who ended in a tie for 62nd thanks to an 8-over 78 in the final round.

Individual competitor Becky Klongland (76-73-80=229) moved into a tie for 50th at 19-over.

Brooke Ferrell, who was forced to withdraw from Saturday's action due to injury, bounced back by firing a 1-over 71.

Sixth-ranked Florida took home the team title after finishing at 7-over, followed by No. 11 Duke (+15), No. 25 UCF (+23), Campbell (+42) and Clemson (+44) to round out the top-five. The Badgers finished just three strokes behind ninth-place Virginia Tech (+59) and one behind Troy (+61).

Up next, the Badgers will travel to John's Island, South Carolina, to compete in the Briar's Creek Invitational March 20-21.
