SAN DIEGO—The Wisconsin women's rowing team finished off their strong showing at the San Diego Crew Classic by placing all three participating boats on the podium.
After finishing with the second-fastest qualifying time in the Women's Second Varsity Eight Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Cup, the Badgers rowed to a second-place finish in the Grand Final, finishing three seconds behind Texas, who took first place.
Overall, times were slower on Sunday compared to the qualifying times on Saturday for all teams, but UW finished the race in 6:38.20, five seconds faster than third-place Washington State. Tennessee, USC and UCLA rounded out the remaining three teams.
In the Women's Varsity Eight Jessop-Whittier Grand Final, the Badgers earned a third-place finish with a time of 6:27.03, about half a second faster than their qualifying time.

Wisconsin was able to beat out Washington State for the bronze by about two seconds and British Columbia and UCLA finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
In the Cardinal and White's final race of the day in the Women's Varsity Four Karen Plumleigh Cortney Grand Final, the foursome, led by
Alison Morrison, placed third, crossing the finish-line in 7:18.50.
The race was the tightest contest the Badgers participated in, with the top-three teams finishing within three and a half seconds of each other. USC claimed first place with a 7:15.03 finish and Texas came in second, posting a 7:16.91 time.
After a successful trip to California, the 12th-ranked Badgers will head to East Lansing, Michigan next weekend for a Big Ten Double Dual with Michigan and Michigan State on Saturday, April 8.
