Klongland leads Badgers in second round of Big Ten Championships

UW enters final round in fourth place
MAINEVILLE, OHIO -- Highlighted by junior Becky Klongland, the Wisconsin women's golf team fought against adverse conditions in the second round of the Big Ten Championships to move into fourth place.

Klongland (72-73=145) fired a 1-over 73 to lead the Badgers (291-306=597) and currently sits in eighth place.

At 4-over, senior Brooke Ferrell (71-77=148) shot a 5-over 77 to move into 12th place.
Â
Both junior Gabby Curtis (75-78=153) and sophomore Jessica Reinecke (75-78=153) recorded a 6-over 78 to be knotted in a tie for 29th.

Sophomore Nat Zeng (73-86=159) and senior Michelle Cheung (77-86=163) both shot a 14-over 86 to move into a tie for 55th and 70th, respectively.

In team standings, Northwestern held onto its lead at 3-under followed by Michigan State (+5), Ohio State (+14) and Wisconsin (+21) to complete the top-four. The Badgers hold a two-stroke lead over Michigan (+23) and are five strikes ahead of Purdue (+26) entering the final round.
