Wisconsin Volleyball touts No. 2 recruiting class in nation

Badgers among country’s elite for incoming recruiting classes
MADISON, Wis. — The 2017 Wisconsin volleyball recruiting class has been ranked as the second-best class in the country according to the Top 30 Collegiate Recruiting Classes by PrepVolleyball.com, which was announced on Thursday.Â
The 2017 class includes Riley Bell, 5-6, L, Neuqua Valley (Naperville, Illinois); Danielle Hart, 6-4, MB, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, Virginia); Sydney Hilley, 6-0, S, Champlin Park (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota); Grace Loberg, 6-3, OH, Geneva (Illinois); Dana Rettke, 6-8, MB, Brookfield (Riverside, Illinois); Nicole Shanahan, 6-2, MB, Oconomowoc (Wisconsin); and Mariah Whalen, 6-1, OH, Newman Catholic (Wausau, Wisconsin)
It marked the 12th time in the 15-year history of the ranking that the Badgers have been in the top 30. It is the 11th time Wisconsin has been ranked among the top 20.
Texas ranks No. 1 in the Top 30 Collegiate Recruiting Classes by PrepVolleyball, while Wisconsin comes in at No. 2, UCLA ranks No. 3, Minnesota is at No. 4, and Kentucky rounds out the top five. The Big Ten Conference had 11 schools in the top-20 ranking, including six in the top 10. In addition to Wisconsin and Minnesota, Nebraska was sixth, Illinois seventh, Michigan State ninth and Maryland 10th.
