Klongland wins Wisconsin Women's State Amateur

First person to win tournament four years in a row
MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin senior-to-be Becky Klongland won the 2017 Wisconsin Women's State Amateur Championship on Wednesday, becoming the first golfer to win the tournament four years in a row.
The 54-hole tournament was shortened to 36 following heavy rains in the area. Klongland finished the tournament at +3 after shooting 70 in the first round and 75 in the second round at Westmoor Country Club in Brookfield.
Klongland is coming off a junior season that saw her record a second-consecutive top-10 finish at the Big Ten championship. She was also the Badgers' top finisher at the NCAA Columbus Regional, placing 25th overall.
Klongland's UW teammate, sophomore-to-be Bobbi Stricker, tied for seventh at the Wisconsin Women's State Amateur Championship. For complete coverage of the event, check out Wisconsin.golf.
