Game notes vs. Indiana

MADISON, Wis. -- The Badgers (8-13, 1-7 B1G) take to the road for two Big Ten games this week. Wisconsin travels to Indiana (9-12, 2-6) on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. CT game from Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.

UW continues its road trip on Sunday, traveling to Champaign, Illinois, for a game against the Illini (9-12, 0-7). Tip time is 3 p.m. live on the Big Ten Network from State Farm Center.

1. B1G WIN: A 14-1 run over the last four-and-a-half minutes gave Wisconsin its first Big Ten win of the season. The Badgers downed Northwestern 58-46 in front of a season-high crowd of 5,110 in the Kohl Center on Sunday evening. Wisconsin stopped its seven-game losing streak with the win.

2. HOW BOUT THAT HOWARD? Junior Marsha Howard scored a game-high 21 points, her third 20-plus game this season. She took a career-high 16 field goal attempts and tied her career high with 10 field goals made. The 6-0 forward also added nine rebounds.

3. FAB FOUR: In Big Ten games, UW has four players that average double-figure scoring. Senior Cayla McMorris (13.2), Courtney Fredrickson (10.6), Marsha Howard (10.4) and Suzanne Gilreath (10.0) make up the balanced scoring attack.

4. SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS: Indiana is 9-12 on the season and 2-6 in conference play. Despite having top returner Tyra Buss back, the Hoosiers have struggled this season. They are 5-5 at home this year. Indiana raced out to an early lead and avoided a second-half upset as it came away with a 69-65 win over Michigan State on Saturday afternoon in Breslin Center. Senior guard Tyra Buss scored her 2,000th point in the win, becoming the sixth ever player at Indiana to reach the career milestone.

5. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Indiana leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 48-23 overall and 30-4 in Bloomington. The last seven contests between the two foes have been pretty even with Indiana taking four and the Badgers winning three. The two squads faced each other once last season with the Hoosiers winning 78-54 in Madison.
