Campbell named WCHA Goaltender of the Week

UW goaltender posted two shutouts last weekend

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey junior goaltender Kristen Campbell was named the WCHA Goaltender of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

The announcement marks the second time this year Campbell has received the weekly award after receiving the award on Nov. 6 and her fifth career weekly honor.

The reigning WCHA Goaltender of the Year posted two consecutive shutouts with a total of 27 saves in Wisconsin's sweep of Bemidji State last weekend.

The Brandon, Manitoba, native has a .940 save percentage this season with just a 1.03 goals against the average in 14 outings this season. Her four shutouts not only pace the WCHA, but are tied for the NCAA lead.

Campbell enters this weekend with a three-game shutout streak and has not allowed a goal since Nov. 2.

The No. 1 Badgers are set to face Harvard this weekend at LaBahn Arena. Puck drop on Friday is at 7 p.m. while Saturday's game will start at 8 p.m., an hour later than originally scheduled.
