Senior scored three highlight-reel goals in No. 1 UW’s sweep of Harvard
MADISON, Wis. – After appearing twice on ESPN's Sportscenter last weekend, Wisconsin women's hockey senior Annie Pankowski was named the WCHA Co-Forward of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
It marks the first time this year that Pankowski has earned the honor from the WCHA and the seventh time in her career she has earned WCHA weekly accolades.
Pankowski had a weekend to remember for the Badgers as she became the first player in program history to net game-winning goals in consecutive overtime games.
After scoring a short-handed goal in the first period that ended up as the No. 3 play on SportsCenter, Pankowski scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift No. 1 UW to a 3-2 win over the Crimson.
On Saturday, Pankowski scored another beautiful game-winning goal in OT that gave UW a 2-1 win. Her goal on Saturday checked at No. 9 in SportCenter's Top-10 Plays.
Pankowski's two-game winning goals paced the WCHA and were tied for the NCAA lead while her three goals ranked second in the conference.
Pankowski and the top-ranked Badgers wrap up their six-game homestand against Syracuse this weekend. Puck drop on Saturday is at 2 p.m. with Sunday's series finale beginning at noon.
