Post-Match Quotes
Pepperdine Head Coach Scott Wong
"It was a heck of a match. Northern Iowa played really well and it was fun to battle with them and pull of this win in five."Â
UNI Head Coach Bobbi Peterson
"I think one of the things I'm most proud of our team for is, Pepperdine runs an extremely fast offense that we have not seen. We have maybe seen a little bit of it early in the preseason, but that was three months ago. We really don't have the capability in practice to duplicate that, so one of the things we talked about was allowing ourselves enough time to adjust to that. We weren't going to be able tot just jump on the court and defend them the way we wanted to. It was going to take a little time to adjust. I thought we did that a lot faster than I thought we would. I think the biggest difference in those first two sets was that Pepperdine stayed aggressive and we backed off a little bit at the end of those two sets."
"It was an outstanding group of young ladies that was led by the senior class. I hope that those juniors and those sophomores really took a look at how those seniors were leading and be able to take off from where they left off."Â
