MADISON, Wis. – When it comes to all-time greats, Wisconsin has claim to more than a few.
Confirming what Badger fans have known, ESPN's Greg Wyshynski placed the Badgers at the top of the list when he released his rankings of the "ultimate lineups in NCAA men's hockey history."
The Badgers' lineup includes left wing Dany Heatley (1999-2001), center Joe Pavelski (2004-06), right wing Scott Mellanby (1984-86), defensemen Chris Chelios (1981-83) and Ryan Suter (2003-04) and goaltender Curtis Joseph (1988-89).
In addition, Chris Peters chose each school's all-time greatest played based on their collegiate career, selecting current Wisconsin women's hockey head coach Mark Johnson (1976-79) as the Badgers' top performer.
Where would a Wisconsin second-team, comprised of center Derek Stepan (2008-10) between left wing Brian Mullen (1980-82) and right wing Tony Granato (1983-87), defensemen Brian Rafalski (1991-95) and Gary Suter (1983-85) and goaltender Mike Richter (1985-87) rank among the top-10?
