After a decade in professional basketball — including three years in the NBA and stints in Europe and the Middle East — Tucker recently retired from playing professional basketball and has returned to Madison to serve as the Badgers' newest Director for Student-Athlete Engagement.
"I'm very excited to be this year's Grand Marshal," Tucker said. "This is an amazing honor and there's so much history with the Crazylegs Classic.
"Any time you mix health with fun for a great cause that's something I want to be a part of and I'm really looking forward to seeing all of this year's participants!"
Tucker will preside over this year's festivities on Saturday, April 28. The start is set for the iconic Capitol Square at 10 a.m., race down State Street for both the run and walk, before finishing on the field inside historic Camp Randall Stadium.
"We're excited to welcome back Alando to campus and provide a stronger tie to the Badgers for the Crazylegs participant experience," Mike Cerniglia, W Club executive director and event organizer. "For our many basketball fans, it's fantastic to have Alando be part of our race day!"

Joining Tucker on the Capitol Square, Hamilton and Roth will start the Crazylegs' two-mile walk. Hailing from nearby McFarland, Hamilton and Roth led the American women's curling team in PyeongChang, South Korea, to a 4-5 finish, tying for fifth place. Hamilton's brother Matt earned the 2018 Olympic men's curling gold medal with Team USA, while the Hamilton siblings finished seventh overall in Olympic mixed doubles curling with a 2-5 record.
"Coming off an Olympic year and the excitement of Team USA, we're proud to welcome Becca and Nina to be part of Crazylegs this year," Cerniglia added.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to be part of this Madison tradition. Both the eight kilometer run and two-mile walk offer a terrific opportunity to kick off the spring Badger-style.
Registration is open for individuals as well as for groups wishing to be part of the Fun N Fitness program. All participants will receive a Crazylegs Classic performance tech t-shirt from Under Armour as well as the chance to enjoy a post-race celebration with refreshments, awards and live entertainment provided by DJ Shawna at Camp Randall Stadium.
