Murtha, Pickett and Rhodes each honored by the conference
MADISON, Wis. – Three members of the Wisconsin women's soccer team were recognized with Big Ten preseason honors on Monday, as Cameron Murtha, Victoria Pickett and Dani Rhodes were each named to the 2018 Big Ten Preseason Honors List.
Pickett, Rhodes, Emily Ogle of Penn State and Marisa Viggiano of Northwestern not only earned all-conference selection, but the group was also among those named to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Nearly half (20) of the students on the 2018 Big Ten Preseason Honors List are returning all-conference selections, including 11 United Soccer Coaches all-region honorees
The most prestigious individual award in college soccer, the MAC Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club to the most outstanding male and female players of the year.
The Big Ten Conference also unveiled its preseason poll for the season, which projected the Badgers to finish fifth in this year's league standings.
UW kicks off its regular season on Aug. 16 hosting North Dakota State at 7 p.m. CT at the McClimon Complex. The Badgers won their lone exhibition match, 2-0, over Mississippi State last Friday.
