Badgers host six 20-plus win teams in Big Ten play

MADISON, Wis. – The entire schedule for the 2018-19 Wisconsin women's basketball season is now available as the Big Ten Conference announced the league schedule Tuesday afternoon.
The Badgers open the Big Ten season on Dec. 28 with a Border Battle game at Minnesota. Wisconsin's home opener is Dec. 31 vs. Purdue.
In 2017-18, the Big Ten had a record nine teams win 20-or-more games with 10 teams advancing to post-season play. Three teams were ranked in the final Associated Press and Women's Basketball Coaches Association polls while seven teams received votes.
Wisconsin welcomes to the Kohl Center No. 10/15 Ohio State (28-7 in 2017-18) while also hosting six teams that received votes in the final polls - Purdue (20-14), Indiana (23-14), Minnesota (24-9), Nebraska (21-11), Michigan (23-10) and Michigan State (19-14).
The Buckeyes, Golden Gophers and Wolverines all advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament while the Huskers competed in the first round. The Hoosiers won the 2018 WNIT Championship while the Spartans and Boilermakers both advanced to the Sweet 16. Penn State (16-16) also competed in the WNIT.
