Wisconsin drops match to Minnesota

Rettke leads Badgers with 12 kills
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The fifth-ranked Wisconsin volleyball team could not overcome the potent Gophers offense Wednesday night, falling at No. 6 Minnesota in three sets, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15.
Wisconsin (9-2 overall, 2-1 B1G) hit .221 (39-14-11) for the match but could not slow down Minnesota (9-2, 3-0), who hit .386 (46-7-101).
Sophomore Dana Rettke earned a team-best 12 kills while adding three digs, an ace and a block. Grace Loberg and Tionna Williams each had three blocks as the Badgers earned a slight 4-3 advantage at the net.
Libero Tiffany Clark earned a match-high 16 digs in tonight's effort. Minnesota out dug UW, 50-41. The Golden Gophers also edged the Badgers from the service line, recording six aces compared to four for UW.

Notes to know
- Minnesota is the first team to record a higher hitting percentage than the Badgers this season. The Golden Gophers hit an opponent season high .386. Wisconsin hit a season-low .232.
- Wisconsin outblocked its 10th opponent of the season, but recorded a season low four stuffs while giving up three blocks.
- Junior M.E. Dodge recorded her first kill of the season and just the third of her career when a dig went over the net and fell in for a kill.
