Badgers take on in-state rivals at Erin Hills
MADISON, Wis. —  The Wisconsin men's golf team travels to Erin Hills Golf Course for its second team event of the fall season, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, at the at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: Senior Jordan Hahn produced another solid performance shooting 220 (+4) at the Northern Intercollegiate to earn a share of 16th place. As a team, Wisconsin tied for 11th.
2. Erin Hills: Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisconsin is one of the top courses in the United States. Originally built by Wisconsin developer Bob Lang, the site has hosted the 2017 U.S. Open and the 2011 U.S. Amateur. Golf Digest named Erin Hills as the 9th best public course in the United States and the 44th greatest course overall.
3. The Lineup: The starting lineup will feature Hahn, fellow senior Brett Robinson, junior Pete Kuhl, sophomore Griffin Barela and sophomore Sam Anderson. Sophomore Tom Calbi and freshman Cameron Frazier will play as individuals.
4. The Competition: Wisconsin will face Arizona State, Iowa, Marquette, McNeese State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Northwestern, UC Davis and Utah.
5. Thoughts from Coach Burcin:
"We have a lot of great discussion with the guys and I know they cannot wait to begin at Erin Hills. I think we all feel like everyone needs to relax and loosen up and good things will happen. It is a course we are very familiar with and I am very excited to watch these guys have a great week."
