Grace Loberg named Big Ten Player of the Week

Sydney Hilley earns setter of the week honors
MADISON, Wis. – After a career match against No. 2 Texas, Wisconsin's Grace Loberg has been named the Big Ten Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Sophomore Sydney Hilley was also named the co-setter of the week after guiding the Badgers to two wins on the weekend.
The 6-3 sophomore outside hitter led the Badgers over the Longhorns with 19 kills, one off her career best, and a career-high 18 digs. Loberg, who became a six-rotation player this season, recorded her second straight double-double, just the second of her career. The Geneva, Illinois, native added a career-high three assists as well as two blocks against Texas. Loberg averaged 4.75 kills per set while hitting .457 and added 4.50 digs per set against the Longhorns. She did not play in the Badgers second match of the weekend due to injury but was named to the HotelRED Invitational all-tournament team.
Hilley was named the MVP of the HotelRED Invitational after setting the Badgers to a 2-0 record. The 6-0 setter put up a season-high 50 assists in leading the Badgers to the win over Texas. The Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, native played an incredible all-around game against High Point, recording a career-high six blocks and tying her career best with 14 digs. On the weekend, Hilley averaged 11.88 assists per set as the Badgers hit .307 on weekend. She also added 2.75 digs, 1.00 blocks, 0.88 kills and 0.12 aces per set.
The second-ranked Badgers (4-0) travel to the state of Texas for two matches this weekend. Wisconsin takes on 15th-ranked Baylor (4-2) on Friday at 6 p.m., from the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas. UW continues its road swing, playing at North Texas (3-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. from the North Texas Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas.
