Six Badgers to head to USA Hockey National Team Evaluation Camp

Camp to be held Sept. 13-17 in Biddeford, Maine
MADISON, Wis. – Six current Wisconsin women's hockey players are among the 37 Americans who will partake in the 2018 U.S. Women's National Team Evaluation Camp, Sept. 13-17 in Biddeford, Maine.
Seniors Mikaela Gardner, Annie Pankowski, Maddie Rolfes and Sophia Shaver will be joined by junior Abby Roque and sophomore Natalie Buchbinder at the five-day camp as players prepare for upcoming opportunities with the U.S women's national team
All six Badgers attended last month's National Team Festival in Lake Placid, New York while Buchbinder, Gardner, Roque and Shaver competed for the U.S. under-22 team in a three-game series against Canada.
The group of six current Badgers will be joined by a trio of alumni – Brianna Decker, Hilary Knight and Alex Rigsby – who won gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The UW women's hockey team opens its 2018-19 campaign with a home series against Lindenwood Sept. 28-29. Puck drop for the season opener is at 7 p.m on Sept. 28, while the series wraps up at 2 p.m. on Sept. 29.
