UW mens soccer defeated by Rutgers

Scarlet Knights beat Badgers 3-0
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team traveled to New Jersey to take on Rutgers in a Friday night showing under the lights, but dropped the game to the Scarlett Knights, 3-0.
The Rutgers (7-3-2, 1-3-1 Big Ten) were able to secure a win on their home turf with late goals in another tough result for the Badgers (2-9-1, 0-3-1 Big Ten).
There wasn't much action for either team in the first half. The Scarlet Knights recorded three shots to Wisconsin's one. Sophomore midfielder Bobby Harris had a great look into the net in the seventh minute of the game, but couldn't get it past the goalie.
Rutgers took the lead in the 66th minute with a goal on a corner kick, and would stay in control the remainder of the game. With a little over three minutes of the game remaining, Rutgers scored again to put themselves up by two goals. To seal thee win, the Scarlet Knights scored their third and final goal of the game in the 89th minute.
Wisconsin ended the night with three yellow cards and Rutgers with four.
Up Next: Badgers are headed back home to play SIUE Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (CT). Following up that game, UW will also play BIg Ten opponent Penn State Saturday at McClimon Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. (CT).
