Badgers take on Maketewah
MADISON, Wis.- The Badger men's golf team heads back to Cincinnati to compete in the Musketeer Classic on Monday-Tuesday.
Here are five things to know before the men tee off on Monday.
1. First-Year Frenzy: All three freshmen will be competing with the team this tournament. It will be the fourth start for both Sebastian Iqbal and Coalter Smith. This is Jack Blair's first start with the team. He competed as an individual at the Badger Invitational.
2. The Upperclassmen: Also competing with the team will be juniors Sam Anderson and Griffin Barela. Competing as an individual will be senior Pete Kuhl.
3. Sam Swings: Junior Sam Anderson is leading the team with a season 18-hole average of 71.88 strokes.
4. The Field: The Badgers will be going up against Ball State, Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Morehead State, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Northern Kentucky, Oakland and Xavier. Indiana, Ohio State and West Virginia will have individuals competing.
5. The Format: Monday wil be a 36-hole shotgun starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday will be 18 holes of play starting at 9 a.m.
