UNIONDALE, N.Y. ā In a weekend of firsts, the top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team dominated LIU 12-0 on the ice of the pros Saturday night at NYCB Live at Nassau Coliseum.
Sophomore
Sophie Shirley took away her first career hat-trick, the first one for the Badgers (8-0-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) this year, while
Dara Greig,
Jesse DeVito and
Grace Bowlby posted their first career collegiate goals.

Caitlin Schneider,
Presley Norby and
Nicole LaMantia as UW outshot LIU (0-4-0) 80-6, breaking the school record for most shots on goal in a single game.Ā The previous record was 72 set in a 11-0 win over Lindenwood on Sept. 25, 2011.
Three Notes of the Game
- Nineteen different Badgers found the scoresheet during the sweep of the Sharks while five Badgers (Bowlby, DeVito, Chayla Edwards, Greig and Grace Shirley), recorded their first collegiate goals.Ā Ā
- Daryl Watts saw her goal streak end at seven games, but the junior still chipped in three assists during the triumph. Watts leads all NCAA skaters with 25 points through eight games this year.
- Breanna Blesi earned her first collegiate win as the Maple Grove, Minnesota, native played the first 40 minutes for UW. She stopped two shots before Nikki Cece came in and made four saves in the final 20 minutes.
