Badgers take on field of 11 teams
MADISON, Wis.- The Badgers will be traveling to Erin, Wisconsin, to compete in the Marquette Intercollegiate on Sunday through Tuesday.
Here are five things to know before UW tees off on Sunday morning.
1. The Course: The Marquette Intercollegiate will be held at Erin Hills Golf Course. Famously known for hosting the 2017 U.S Open, Erin Hills is ranked as the No. 42 course in America on Golf Digest's Top 100 Golf Courses list. The course is a par-72 and 7,515 yards.
2. The Roster: Competing in this tournament will be the same line-up seen at the Bearcat Invitational, plus one individual entry. The five-man team will consist of Sebastian Iqbal, Sam Anderson, Coalter Smith, Nick Robinson and Griffin Barela. The individual player is sophomore Cameron Frazier.
3. The Competition: The Badgers will be one team in a field of 12. The other schools competing are Ball State, Georgia, Louisiana, Marquette, Miami (OH), Northwestern, Purdue, South Florida, UC Davis and UCLA, along with 12 individual entries.
4. The Format: The tournament will be 54 holes with 18 holes being played each day. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday and Monday, and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
