Wisconsin women’s track begins outdoor season in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team began their outdoor season in the golden state at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, California.
 
Haley Lubow and Bianca Stubler started the season off hot. The duo had the perfect 1-2 punch for Wisconsin in the open 400 meter hurdles. Lubow won the event with a personal best 1 minute, 0.61 seconds. Stubler finished runner-up in1:03.13
 
The two also finished 4-5 in the invitational 400 meter hurdles. Lubow took fourth with time of 1:00.80. Stubler finished right behind her with a time of 1:01.86.
 
In the open pole vault, Rayce Albino tied for first place with a clearance of 13 feet, 2 inches.
 
Coming off of an appearance at the NCAA indoor championships, senior thrower, Banke Oginni, took third place in the invitational hammer throw with a mark of 182-4.
 
Hanna Barton picked up a top-five finish in discus. The redshirt senior threw 158 feet, 11 inches in the first meet of the season, good for fifth place.
 
Three Badgers competed in the open javelin event. Kelsey Sullivan scored a top-five finish coming off of a 128 feet, 4 inch throw. Jordan Hirsbrunner took 11th following a 112-9 toss while Phoebe Edwards finished just behind Hirsbrunner in 12th place with a 108-7 throw.
 
In the invitational javelin throw , Annika Cederstrand launched the javelin 125-10 to finish 17th.
 
Morgan Parzych ran the 200 meters for Wisconsin. The freshman out of Chandler, Arizona took 23rd place in her first collegiate outdoor meet in 25.81
 
In the 100 meters, Armoni Brown finished in 12.30 while Meagan Blair clocked in at 12.37.
 
The Wisconsin women's track and field team will head back west to compete in the Stanford Invitational next weekend.
