Distance runners represent Wisconsin in California
STANFORD, Calif.– The Wisconsin women's track and field team's season is well underway. They opened up action at the Aztec Invitational last weekend and now head out to sunny Stanford, California to compete in the Stanford Invitational.

1. Hurdle together, stay together: Haley Lubow and Bianca Stubler showed off their talent and teamwork at the Aztec Invitational last weekend. In the open 400 meter hurdles, Lubow was the winner and Stubler runner-up. In the invitational 400 meter hurdles, the duo crossed the finish line in a row again as Lubow took fourth place and Stubler took fifth.
2. Oginni moves up: At the Aztec Invitational, Banke Oginni set an astounding personal best in hammer throw. The redshirt senior took third in the event with a throw of 182 feet, 4 inches. This moves Oginni up in the school record book to eighth all-time.
3. The return of distance: The Wisconsin women distance runners will be back to work this weekend at the Stanford Invitational. Amy Davis, Alicia Monson and Shaelyn Sorensen will compete in the women's 10,000 meters. Alissa Niggemann and Rachel Werking will run in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
4. In the rankings: The women's track and field team is ranked 33rd in the USTFCCCA. The Badgers finished 22nd at the conclusion of the 2018 track season. They will look to move up this weekend in Stanford with their distance runners.
5. Soon at the Sun Angel: The Badgers head to Tempe, Arizona on April 5-6 to participate in the Sun Angel Classic hosted by Arizona State.
