Rettke, Hilley honored by Big Ten

Badgers named Player of the Week and Setter of the Week
MADISON, Wis. – After opening the 2019 season 2-0, two members of the fourth-ranked Wisconsin volleyball team were honored by the Big Ten Conference, the league announced on Tuesday.
Junior Dana Rettke was named the Big Ten Player of the Week while junior Sydney Hilley was named the Setter of the Week. Rettke earns her fifth career Player of the Week honor while Hilley was recognized with her sixth Setter of the Week accolade.
A 6-foot-8 middle blocker, Rettke leads the Big Ten with 5.83 kills per set after posting match highs of 18 kills at North Carolina and 17 kills against Florida State. She also hit at a .727 clip (18 kills – 2 errors – 22 attempts) against the Tar Heels to bring her season average to .534. The Riverside, Illinois, native also added two service aces against the Seminoles, serving nine straight points in the second set.
Hilley leads the Big Ten with 13.00 assists per set, putting up 41 assists at UNC and 37 assists against Florida State. She also tied her career best with six blocks against FSU and put away six kills vs. the Tar Heels. The Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, native set the Badger offense to a team hitting percentage of .336, which ranks second in the Big Ten.
No. 4 Wisconsin (2-0) opens its 2019 home season by hosting the sixth-annual HotelRED Invitational in the UW Field House. The tournament opens when No. 17 Baylor (2-0) takes on Syracuse (0-0) Thursday at 4 p.m. The Badgers face No. 11 Marquette (3-0) at 7 p.m. live on Fox Sports 1 UW faces Baylor on Friday at 8 p.m. live on the Big Ten Network to wrap up the invitational.
