Krill picks up singles win for UW
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team faced its toughest test of the year on Tuesday night as top-ranked USC came to the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in preparation for the 2020 ITA Men's Indoor Championships.
UW (7-3) battled tough but ultimately dropped a 6-1 decision to the Trojans (5-1).
Robert Krill earned the solo win for the Badgers in singles play after facing defeat in first set. Krill was able to best his opponent, No. 95 Jake Sands, in the second set, 7-5, to enter the tiebreak in the third set. After winning the tiebreaker, Krill left the court with a notable victory that he will be sure to remember in his career.
The Trojans started out the match taking the doubles point, but not all hope was lost by the Badgers. Jesper Freimuth and Lenard Soha left doubles play with a win on their hands against Bradley Frye and Ryder Jackson, dominating the match, 6-3.
UP NEXT: The Badgers will host the ITA Men's Indoor National Championship at Nielsen Tennis Stadium from February 14-17. They will play Ohio State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for the four-day tournament and fans can learn more about the tournament here.
