Box Score MADISON, Wis. – In the opening round of the ITA National Championships, the Wisconsin men's tennis team faced the No. 1 seeded team, Ohio State.

The Badgers (7-4) surrendered the doubles point for only the fifth time this season. Wisconsin was unable to earn a singles point, but the team did not stop fighting again the Buckeyes (10-0).Â

Jesper Freimuth came close to besting his opponent, No. 31 Kyle Seelig, winning the first set 7-5, but the match went unfinished after the Buckeyes clinched their fourth point.

UP NEXT: The Badgers will take on either Baylor or Wake Forest in the consolation round of the ITA National Championships Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Admission to Nielsen Tennis Stadium is free to the public.
