MADISON, Wis. - The 16th-ranked Wisconsin men's track and field team will separate and send athletes to three different meets this weekend. Sprinters and horizontal jumpers head to South Bend, Indiana, for the two-day Meyo Invitational meet, beginning on Friday at 4 p.m.. Throwers head to Ripon, Wisconsin, for the Red Hawk Invitational on Saturday, which will begin at 11 a.m.. Senior Olli Hoare will travel to the prestigious Millrose Games in New York to compete in the Wanamaker Mile run on Saturday at 4:50 p.m. CT .

1. LAST TIME: Last week, the Badgers competed in the Jack Johnson Classic and the Indiana Relays. Six athletes had first-place finishes in their respective events. Zach Lorbeck had an impressive weekend at the Jack Johnson Classic as he won the heptathlon with 5,651 points, winning the heptathlon 60 meters (6.89 seconds) and high jump (6 feet, 10 1/4 inches). Peyton Frankenreider won the triple jump with a mark of 46-0 3/4 and Rashid Coulibaly won the pole vault with a clearance of 17-0 1/4 at the Jack Jonhson Classic. Colin Enz won the 600 meters with a time of 1:20.90 at the Indiana Relays.
2. PERSONAL BESTS: Two Badgers claimed personal bests this past weekend. Redshirt senior Benjamin Eidenschink ran a personal best in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:07.38, an improvement of more than two seconds. Junior George Ghafari also logged a personal best in the high jump with a clearance of 6-10 3/4, an inch more than his previous best.
3. RANKINGS: The men will go into the weekend ranked 16th nationally by USTFCCCA. Olli Hoare has not competed in the mile yet this season, but his time of 3:54.83 still ranks first in the country. Hoare also ranks 21st in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.96 from the Indiana Relays. Zach Lorbeck currently ranks sixth in the country in the heptathlon with his converted score of 5,675 points from this past weekend at the Jack Johnson Classic.
4. MILLROSE GAMES: Senior Olli Hoare has been invited to compete in the Millrose Games for the second year in a row. The Millrose Games will be held in Madison Square Garden in New York City and is the world's longest-running and most prestigious indoor track and field competition. Last year, Hoare had a record-setting race. The Sydney, Australia native finished with a personal-best and NCAA-leading time of 3:54.83 in the Wanamaker Mile. He broke the school record that Badger alum, Morgan McDonald, previously owned. He also broke the 21-year Big Ten record as he surpassed Kevin Sullivan of Michigan. This year, Hoare will again compete in the Wanamaker Mile on Saturday with the race set to start at 4:50 p.m. CT.
5. UP NEXT: Sprinters and field athletes will head to Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in the Music City Invitational from Feb. 14-15. Select distance athletes will travel to Seattle, Washington, to compete in the Husky Invitational from Feb.14-15 while other distance runners head to the Iowa City Classic in Ames, Iowa, on Feb. 14-15.
