Badgers complete day one of Larry Wieczorek Invitational
IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Wisconsin women's track and field team traveled to Iowa City, Iowa to compete in their first away meet of the 2021 season. Josie Schaefer remains on top as she won the women's shot put for the second meet in a row. Two additional Badgers placed top three in their respective events.Â
Redshirt freshman Chloe Lindeman has consistently stayed at the front of the throwing pack as she finished second in the weight throw (premier) with a mark of 65-5 1/2 and sixth in the shot put with a throw of 48-8 1/4.
Olivia Roberts and and Chikere Odoucha also competed in the weight throw (premier). Roberts finished with a mark of 55-11 3/4, with Odoucha following with a throw of 47-2 1/4.
Mackenzie Heyroth competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in a time of 27.44 seconds. Heyroth also competed in the high jump, clearing 5-01.00 (1.55m), as well as the long jump, ending with a mark of 17-08.75 (5.40m).
Underclassmen Kiley Robbins and Taylor Gilling competed in the 200-meter dash (premier). Robbins crossed the finish line in 25.18 with Gilling coming in right behind her teammate at 25.32.Â
Jordan Hirsbrunner competed in the high jump, clearing 5-1 (1.55m), as well as the long jump which she ended with a mark of 16-11 1/2 (5.17m).
Diamond Black competed in the long jump finishing first among the Badgers with a mark of 18-5 1/4 (5.62m). Armoni Brown also competed in the long jump, finishing second for the Badgers with a mark of 18-0 1/2 (5.50m).

Throwers Prevail
Schaefer, a redshirt junior, won the shot put for the second week in a row with a mark of 56 feet, 1 3/4 inches. Dorn Places In Top Three
Sophomore Ali Dorn secured a third-place finish in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:31.74. Dorn was less than two-tenths of a second off from her personal record time of 1:31.56 that she ran at the Meyo Invitational last season.ÂMackenzie Heyroth competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in a time of 27.44 seconds.
