Quick Six: Battling Army

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team faces Army West Point (0-2-1) in a Thursday-Friday series on Oct. 14-15 this week at the Kohl Center. After beginning their 2021-22 campaign with a pair of losses, the Badgers are hungry for their first win of the season.

Here are six quick things to know before watching at the Kohl Center or on television:

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO (COVID PROTOCOLS, DIGITAL TICKETING, CASHLESS CONCESSIONS)

1 - FRESH START: Freshman forward Caden Brown notched his first career goal just one minute and 13 seconds into his first game donning the red and white, setting the record for the quickest goal in program history by a freshman to start the season. It also marked the fifth quickest goal to start any season in school history. He also added an assist in Saturday's matchup against Michigan Tech for a two-point weekend. Freshman defenseman Corson Ceulemans also recorded his first career point with an assist in Saturday's game.

2 - FROM THE HISTORY BOOKS: The Badgers and Army have only met twice in Madison and three times total. The Badgers hold a 1-2-0 record in the series. Their first matchup dates back to 1965 and most recently in 1967 when the Badgers still played at the Madison Ice Arena. UW's victory in the series came in West Point, New York.
